With all precincts reporting, incumbent mayor Saji George has won, receiving 1,571 votes compared to 553 for the challenger K Paul Cash. Official results are reported by the Dallas County Elections Department.

The final count shows 795 votes were cast on Election day, representing 37% of the total. Of those who voted on Election day, 250 were for Cash, and 545 were for George.

Historically in Texas, the vast majority of votes are cast early (in the last three Presidential elections, early in-person and mail-in voting made up 75-85% of votes cast). Early voting totals for this election showed an overwhelming majority voted for Saji George:

Early votes cast for Mayor before May 3rd

Votes for Town Council were unsurprising: Both Clark and Finch ran unopposed, and there were no write-in candidates reported, although about 300 votes were blank for both candidates.

In addition to the posted totals, I took a look through the In-Person Early Voter List (here), which names every resident who voted in all the Dallas special elections. Filtering down to Sunnyvale residents, I ran the names of Sunnyvale residents through a commercial Name/Demographic algorithm, as well as a GPT-requested filter, and also a manual validation to attempt to understand the demographics of our town who voted. All three measures suggest approximately 55% of early voters were Caucasian, 35% of early voters were Indian- or Pakistani-American, 2% were Latin-American, and the remaining 8% were indeterminate. Given that 77.2% of early voters chose Saji George, this indicates a remarkably broad-based show of support for the current mayor among voters of all backgrounds.
