A Farewell to Crickets

So there it is. A lot of my time wasted combing through everything Mark wrote. The briefest mention of cricket inside a long and open discussion process. A far cry from Paul Cash’s claim that cricket was being discussed “ad nauseum.” No evidence at all of a stealth campaign to build a cricket field complex our town didn’t want. Just an open discussion about multiple options we could consider to build better parks for our families.

At this point, talking about cricket fields is beating a dead horse. I am going to move on, and I have more questions than answers. Some of them are here:

  • Why did Mark decide to stick his neck out and talk about cricket fields, and then provide no actual evidence about cricket fields?
  • Which candidate would be preferred by the developer who is currently suing Sunnyvale, because they want to put in another drive-thru between Chik fil A and Starbucks, and the Town wants something a bit nicer instead?
  • Who is Paul’s campaign guy, and what other campaigns has he worked on? Have there been ethics complaints against him for similar behavior in the past?
  • Both candidates signed campaign disclosures (Cash, George, see last page for each) with the Texas Ethics Commission promising to not spend more than $1,110 on their campaign, unless they re-file a detailed report of who is funding them. Saji George has far fewer signs up and is running a much smaller campaign, yet he has still followed the law and re-filed to reflect his detailed donors and expenditures. I can’t find a re-filing for Cash. How has Paul Cash been able to put signs all over town, multiple glossy mail flyer campaigns, a website, hire a “campaign guy,” and run a targeted text message campaign, for only $1,110?

I welcome any answers to these questions from either campaign, send them to ben@sunnyvalecricket.com

This text message from the Cash campaign was at best reckless and careless. At worst, it may have been an intentional fabrication by Paul Cash’s campaign to sow animosity towards his opponent.

Does Sunnyvale want a mayor who is so careless with the truth?

Vote your conscience, but for goodness sake please vote!
